Dorothy Therese Howard, 63, of Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2024. Born on September 30, 1961, in Illinois, and moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1977. Dorothy lived a vibrant life brimming with a fiery spirit. Dorothy’s passions painted a vivid picture of her joyful nature. She owned a cherished collection of crosses, and found delight in solving puzzles, often losing herself in their intricate challenges. Her love for country music was often played in car rides and filled her home. Dorothy's playful side shone through her love for Taz the Tasmanian Devil and Grumpy from The Seven Dwarfs, characters that echoed her bold, untamed charm. She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, mother Norma Anne Joachim, father Leonard Setla and her brother Guy Setla. She is survived by her daughter, Crystal McDowell; her son, Mark Howard; her sister, Laura Williams; her brother, David Setla; her grandson, Billy McDowell and other nieces and nephews. Dorothy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her lively spark, and unwavering love for life’s simple joys.
